Gilbert Plains Recreation Commission

Our Mission

"To enhance the quality of life for all residents in the Town and Rural Municipality of Gilbert Plains, through the provision of recreational facilities, activities and in the expansion of tourism to Gilbert Plains.” The Gilbert Plains Recreation Commission is governed by a Board which is comprised of Municipal Council. Recreation Services is administered by the Community Development Officer. Numerous programs are offered throughout the year. Please see the Recreation Event Calendar for current programs and activities.

Public Skating is offered every Wednesday & Friday evening. Fees are as follows:

*Family pass includes immediate family members who reside in the same household.

 

Gilbert Plains Curling Rink

Gilbert Plains Curling Rink is proud to be the home of the Parkland Super League of Curling. The Super League of Curling is a diverse and competitive league. It is designed as an avenue for curlers to have regular competition in order to qualify for Provincial Competitions. It includes league curlers from Mens, Ladies, Seniors & Masters. Access Television in Gilbert Plains broadcasts the game of the week Wednesday nights in Gilbert Plains/Grandview and Dauphin on Thursday nights. Scores and game highlights are also broadcast on air by 730 CKDM.

Community Recreation

The Gilbert Plains Recreation Commission works closely with several User Groups as well as the schools in Gilbert Plains and surrounding communities. These include Grand Plains Minor Hockey, Gilbert Plains Minor Ball, Gilbert Plains Fitness Centre Inc., Gilbert Plains Museum & Info Centre, Centennial Park, Gilbert Plains Historical Society, Gilbert Plains Curling Club & Heartland Lanes.
